Forgiving the Republican Party

by Michael Gregory Steele and Herman B. Hayes

Ok everyone, just take a deep breath and try not to lose faith. I know some of you are distressed about this whole “former Republican Representative Mark Foley sexually abusing underage pages because he’s a sex crazed homosexual” story all over the news, but let’s try not to overreact. Just stay calm and don’t even entertain the thought of staying home from the polls this November.

Values voters I am making an appeal to all of you. I’m asking that you not forget forgiveness when thinking of your personal values. Please fellow Christians, forgive the Republican Party for allowing a gay man to slither into God’s party. I know you’re all upset and disgusted but let’s just try not to throw the baby Jesus out with the bathwater.

Let me be perfectly clear here, if former Representative and current homosexual Mark Foley actually committed these heinous acts, then this is absolutely unforgivable. And let me further state, that if anyone in the Republican leadership had prior knowledge of Foley’s actions and refused to act then they too are culpable.

In fact, ever since Foley’s resignation there’s been a lot of talk about what Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert knew and when he knew it. Even members of his own party are calling for Hastert to resign from his leadership post for not acting on this Foley situation. I’m not so quick to call for the head of Denny Hastert though.

There’s something you have to remember about Hastert and Republicans in general, they’re inexperienced sinners. Would you really expect Hastert, a poor naïve representative from Illinois to understand any of this child molestation business? He’s not a Democrat so he has no frame of reference for any of this. So let’s not tar and feather the poor man just because he was far too innocent to understand the seriousness of all of this.

Think of how embarrassing it was for Hastert to have one of his staffers explain just what Foley was doing during those sexually explicit IM conversations. I mean just look at the Hastert’s sweet and innocent face above; do you really think he could have understood this kind of depravity? If I had my way Hastert would have remained innocent just a bit longer. Those pages aren’t the only victims in all this.

Hastert may never be able to get his innocence back, but we can prevent the entire Republican Party from becoming victims. It would be beyond foolish to let this whole situation deter you from going to the polls and voting for Republican candidates. If you allow the Democrats to win this November then you are responsible for every page that a Democrat molests. Democrats have a lifetime of sinning under their belts and they’ll continue to sin while in office. The main difference is that Democrats know how to molest a congressional page without getting caught. Think about that this November.

I think Foley's first name is Mark. You know, like the gospel.

It just goes to show you, if he'd used the Jew spelling, Marc, we woulda known about him way sooner.

"God's Party?"

What a joke. Republican values are a sick twisted perversion of Christianity.

Jesus Christ: "It is easier for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into heaven."

Republicans: "No way will my tax dollars go to fund health care for the poor!"

Yes, values voters should go to the polls and vote for Republicans. It isn't like they are for torture, or imprisioning people forever without allowing them to question their imprisonment. Torture is a family value which must keep in order to protect America.

Who would Jesus torture?

Michael: It never ceases to amaze me the lengths that liberals will go in order to try and discredit a faithful Christian. It just makes my blood boil whenever I see one of these heathens label your thoughtful arguments as "satire."

I do have one question though: When you said, "Those pages aren’t the only victims in all this," you were being facetious right? I just can't see how these predatory children can be victims in this. Other than the fact that they can no longer prey on a sweet man like Republican Congressman Mark Foley (R – FL). I guess that makes them the "victims" of their own perversion.

This is all so confusing for a simple man like myself, but I know one thing: This wouldn't have happened if the Democrats weren't in office.

You're right, the Bible does in fact say that homosexuality is completely acceptable. Wait, I take that back I just looked up the definition of "abomination" and it seems that I was mistaken.

So it's mentioned a couple times in the Bible as something that angers the Lord so I think it's safe to say that I'm not the only one that damns homosexuals. And since Jesus doesn't specifically say that he forgives gays I can consider their actions to be unforgiveable.

Actually, if you look through history, the 'Party of God' is that of the Democratic party. The only reason it's assumed to be Republican now is cause of the pro-life/pro-choice argument, and it's seen as a bad thing to abort a fetus rather then allow it life, eventually becoming a tax paying citizen.

This is the difference between Christians and liberals. Real Christians know that blind faith is the only type of reasoning that will lead to salvation. Liberals, on the other hand, want to use evolutionary science to discredit Christ and His followers.

If you put aside your hatred of God and instead put your faith in Him, not only would you be a less abrasive person, you wouldn't spend all eternity burning in Hell.

Forgiving has to be rational and rationed; not random and in bulk form.

Please use the following while watching all those politicians and talking heads explain it:

Which is more evil? The evildoer or those that go out of their way to twist what was done and justify the evil deed?

This whole Foley thing reminds me of my comment in the book A Dragon This Way Comes. The politicians and the media are in a incestious relationship; it is like the magician's physical sleight-of-hand tricks that are used to entertain and mystify the audience, but with the politicians and media, it is on a mental plane and what I call a sleight-of-thought process. They will keep your attention on the rat in the corner while they bring an elephant on stage...and you will not see it until they want you to.

I agree Completely! Wanted to note that according to the Dredge Democrats have known about Foley for months now. They were going to wait until 2 weeks before the election so they could "fully benefit" from the leak. As they control 99% of the media I guess that makes sense right? Get over the Hastert thing. How could the man know about explicit IMs. I use a business network daily and looking for Electroni IMs are like looking or a needle in a haystack. Emails maybe... IMs NOT! Shall we get into a mud throwing match? Come on. "For all have Sinned and Fallen Short of the Glory of God". That means "everybody". Doesnt mean that these actions are correct but it Is Interesting that a Democrat did the same thing with a minor a couple years ago and received 6 standing Ovations and a leadership Chair after his actions were brought to light.... Hmmmm

PS - I find the comments posted by the anonymous person (Who first states he is a Christian) below to be lacking merit ...Noted below

Don't hate. The world is one religion, one race and one people. Don't go on thinking you're holier than thou, because thats how wars are started. Jesus believed in peace, why don't you?

How is the world 1 religion? That is not true... While it is true that Everyone Worships something. Yes, Jesus exemplified Peace but he also stood strong against Evil... He used the term "Pit of Vipers, Callous and wicked Generation" when refering to those who had fallen in love with rules and power instead of serving God and his people. He was no passivist. Read your New Testament again ....

Since personally committing sin is almost completely outside of the experience of Republicans, it is no wonder they could not recognize it budding in their midst. It took the liberals and their media machine to point this out to the GOP.

The media should actually be blamed for this whole affair by the way, and I will gladly puncture both eardrums rather than listen to any evidence to the contrary.

Also, this matter firms up my hatred of all things liberal. Even if they didn't have anything directly to do with this pediphilia scandal, they're still to blame somehow. I know this because my gut told me, so don't bother me with your "facts".

Life is easy and black & white if you follow this helpful stereotype: All GOP things = good, all Democratic things = evil. It's good to keep a simple mind - much less stressful thinking involved!

Bottom line: Hastert is totally innocent. I refuse to believe a longtime politician would possibly react from a political motivation. Why, that would never happen!

If anyone wants to respond to me, please shout. I'll have my head buried in the sand and won't be able to hear as clearly.

Is this serious? I really want to know. Either this is horribly written satire or just horribly written. Is this whole website for real? I really want an answer.
The comments on here are hilarious. Thanks for the list of Republican perverts. Oh and you guys, I'm glad you talked to Jesus about this situation because he knows everything.

Qualitative research is one of the most widely used types of extensive studies. You may have already encountered this when you were in college doing your thesis.
